EDUCATIOn

The common definition of education is simply wrong when you consider how education actually occurs.
A proper definition of education will have to cover these four important aspects of how we become educated:
The necessity of having and manipulating knowledge, skills and information
The helpfulness of teachers, without requiring them
The constant need to see through the inherent illusions that arise from our unconscious thought processes, and
Our ability to influence our states of mind
Based on these four criteria I define education as a process of cognitive cartography.

Man splashes acid on teacher

KUALA LUMPUR: She saw a man pouring a red liquid into a polystyrene cup but she never suspected he would throw it at her.
Now, the 25-year-old teacher risks losing her sight in her right eye.Relating the incident yesterday, the teacher said she was waiting for her husband outside her school compound, in Bangsar, on Tuesday afternoon, when she noticed a man on a motorcycle ."Clad in dark clothing and a full-face helmet, he stopped several metres away from me. "He then took out a water bottle containing a red-coloured liquid and poured some of it into a polystyrene cup.
"I thought he was just a parent waiting to fetch his child," said the teacher, who did not want to be named. She had been teaching English at the secondary school for the past year.Minutes later, the man rode past and splashed the contents of the cup on her face, causing a burning sensation in her eye and face."The feeling only subsided after 15 minutes of washing in the school bathroom," she said, adding that the liquid also burnt holes in her bra and caused burns on her neck and chest. She was taken to the University Malaya Medical Centre by her husband, a police Lance Corporal attached to the Brickfields police headquarters."I was told that 70 per cent of my cornea is burnt and I don't know when I will recover," said the teacher at her Pantai Dalam home. She said doctors could not determine what had been thrown on her face as most of it had been washed off when she sought treatment. She said she might be a victim of mistaken identity as she resembled the school's discipline teacher."The discipline teacher reprimanded a student for being involved in a fight outside the school, a day before the incident. "I don't know if that had anything to do with the liquid being splashed on my face." Brickfields police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Abdul Bari Wan Abdul Khalid said police had recorded a statement from the woman.

One Step Behind

If you need me I will stand by you,
If you need to call you know what to do.
Nobody can express our friendship so true.
If you need a shoulder to cry on I am here.
I will ease your pain I will comfort your fears.
If you need advice just come to me,
I will help set your heart free.
I will show the heart behind those eyes,
I will show the real me there will be no disguise.
If you are upset, just lean on me and cry.
Never say you can't all you have to do is try.
I'll be your secret I will not tell,
I will be your life, when your life is hell.
Just dial my digits, give me a call,
I will pick you up when you stumble and fall.
I will be your laughter; I will make you smile.
Our friendship will last forever- for a while
I will make you happy when your life is devastating.
I will be with you; I'll never keep you waiting.
We will remain friends; we'll never disband,
I will help you with anything; I'll lend you a helping hand.
I will help you with your life; I'll help you succeed.
I'll be your everything; I'll be all you need.
You are all I need in life,
You're my honest state of mind,
I'll always be by your side,
I'll just be one step behind

DH Lawrence

David Herbert Lawrence was born on September 11, 1885, in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire, central England. He was the fourth child of a struggling coal miner who was a heavy drinker. His mother was a former schoolteacher, greatly superior in education to her husband. Lawrence's childhood was dominated by poverty and friction between his parents. He was educated at Nottingham High School, to which he had won a scholarship. He worked as a clerk in a surgical appliance factory and then for four years as a pupil-teacher. After studies at Nottingham University, Lawrence matriculated at 22 and briefly pursued a teaching career. Lawrence's mother died in 1910; he helped her die by giving her an overdose of sleeping medicine.

The best time to get started

Some people think the best time to begin studying a foreign language is in childhood. The younger you are, the easier to learn another language. But, the best time to learn foreign language especially English, is when your need is clearest and when you have sufficient time. So, if you are strongly motivated and have time to do so, the best time is now!!
